Do I have to be a Christian to work with you?
No. I work with clients from a variety of backgrounds. Christian counseling is available for clients who want faith integrated into their work, but you do not need to be a Christian to meet with me.
Do you assign homework?
If you want to work on things between sessions, I am happy to suggest exercises, conversations, reading, reflection questions, or other practical ways to continue making progress.
How much does counseling cost?
My private-pay rate is $175 for a 50-minute individual, couples, or family counseling session.
My private-pay rate for an 80-minute couples or family session is $240.
If you use insurance, your cost depends on your particular plan, including any deductible, copayment, or coinsurance. Services billed to insurance are submitted according to my practice’s standard professional fee schedule, and your insurance plan applies its contracted rate.
Do you take health insurance?
Yes. I participate with several insurance plans and provider networks, including some Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, Aetna through Headway, Centrus Health Direct / HCH Sync Centrus, and participating KanCare / Kansas Medicaid plans.
Insurance networks and benefits can vary by the specific plan. If you are unsure whether I participate with your insurance, contact me with the information on your insurance card and I can help you determine the appropriate next step.
I also accept HRA, HSA, and FSA funds. If I am out of network with your insurance, you may have out-of-network benefits, and I can provide documentation for possible reimbursement.

Can couples counseling be private pay even if you accept my insurance?
Yes. Private pay may be appropriate when the primary focus is the relationship itself rather than treatment of one person’s covered mental health condition.
This can include counseling focused on communication, rebuilding trust, recovering from infidelity, deciding how to move forward in the relationship, or strengthening a marriage.
We can discuss the appropriate billing arrangement before beginning so that you understand the expected cost.
Can I use an HSA, FSA, or HRA for counseling?

How long will counseling take?
