Are you looking for a Christian counselor? Someone who will provide professional counseling that is biblical, grace-based and Christ-centered, and not just quote Bible verses to you and tell you to “try harder”? Would you like to talk to a pastor who is not your pastor or your boss?
It is my deepest privilege to help ministry leaders and those who have been hurt by the Church to receive from the Good Shepherd. I understand the isolation and inner conflict that are hazards of being a pastor. I know church hurt. As a professional counselor, I can provide a confidential and safe place for you to unload your struggles, your pain, and your doubts. Come. Be real. Receive grace and healing.
Some Biblical principles that characterize my Christian counseling include:
- It’s ok to grieve, lament, and bring our complaints to God (cf. Psalm 88; John 11:35; Ecclesiastes 3:4; Habakkuk)
- It’s ok to doubt, share our doubts, and bring our doubts to God (cf. Matthew 11:2-3, Mark 9:24; John 20:24-29)
- God can do all things (Genesis 18:14; Jeremiah 32:27). We can and should pray God-sized prayers (Mark 7:8-11; Philippians 4:6-7).
- We will encounter difficulties and disappointments that no amount of faith can remove. Jesus said that His followers would have trials (John 16:33). While God can provide dramatic healing, we will all still die (cf. Lazarus was raised and died again; Romans 8:22-23; Hebrews 9:27). We live in a time of the “Already” and “Not yet.”
- In this season, Christians are called to help one another with our difficulties and bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2; Romans 12:15).
It would be my privilege to support you on your journey so that you can run well and finish strong.
